Piedmont is an important pole in the Italian wine scene. Alto Piemonte, always dedicated to viticulture, in recent years returns to rediscover itself with quality wines, delicacy and transparency that reflect the essence of the territory.
Alto Piemonte, a land of hills and vineyards
Alto Piemonte is an area between the northern provinces of Piedmont, closed to the north by the Alps and to the west by Lake Maggiore. Here the presence of the mountain is strong, with the 4,600 meters of Monte Rosa dominating a region characterized by rice fields and vineyards.
In this area we have two DOCGs, Ghemme e Gattinara, and eight DOCs, Colline Novaresi, Boca, Bramaterra, Coste della Sesia, Fara, Lessona, Sizzano, Valli Ossolane.

The appellation, recognized in 1994, includes many types of wine, from Nebbiolo to Vespolina, from Croatina to Bianco.

Gattico and Lake Maggior
A few kilometers from Lake Maggiore, Gattico has always been dedicated to agriculture and in particular to the cultivation of the vineyard. We wanted to revive an activity abandoned in recent decades, but well present since Roman times. In 1750 more than 10% of the territory was cultivated in vineyards. In 1833 His Majesty the King of Sardinia’s Dictionary of Geography, History, Statistics and Trade described Gattico with these words: “The whole territory is scattered with hills, towards noon and west is rich in vineyards. The main trade is wine and firewood".
